I’m leaving for two weeks tomorrow.

Friday is the deadline for the gingerbread house

Saturday is the competition.

I haven’t put the house together yet.

I am afraid it will fall apart.

Afraid it will break in places I can’t repair.

Afraid that it will not meet up to my expectations.

I haven’t been this bad at finishing a project since I was in school.

AND I have a cold.

I’m going to try to finish up the house tomorrow night and early Friday morning.

And I will take pictures and post them.

do I have to say it?

I’m disappointed in myself.

Sad smile

  1. I’m sure it’s going to be amazing. But I completely understand the procrastinating. I’m doing it myself. But just maybe the result will be what you had hoped–or better!

    • I hope so, Elizabeth!
I am just so…hesitant to do the building this time. It has been a couple of years- IDK- I just feel like THIS time it matters more or that I will do a major fail.

  2. It does get stressful at this time of year, doesn’t it? I’m sorry darling. Get someone to help you put the house together – I always find two sets of hands are better than one… xxx

  3. Heidi the house will be fine, I’m sure it will, and if by chance it’s not….you know what, that’s completely ok too. Why? Because it’s Christmas time, you are going away, you’ll be with loved ones and it’s much easier to eat a house when it’s in pieces 🙂 (as Little Monkey showed me with a display gingerbread house in a cafe a a few days ago…oh eek!)

  4. Heidi Every time I walk into my kitchen I think of you! Why? Because my sister gave me a Swedish gingerbread kit house on Sunday last, saying oh it’s really easy to put together… So I have even less excuse than you as all the pieces are there in the box. Maybe I’ll make it after Christmas… now that is serious procrastinating. I told my sister about your church and graveyard Gingerbread extravaganza and she thought it sounded fantastic. What I guess I ‘m saying is you know you can do it, doesn’t mean you have to do it, we know you can and sometimes life just takes you away from gingerbread houses, it has steered me all over the place lately and well, lets see where it leads next xxx
