It is summertime and I needed to remind myself of that fact.\u00a0 We have been<\/p>\n

so inundated with rain and floods, tornadoes all around us for the last 3 weeks<\/p>\n

or so that I\u2019ve kind of lost sight of the dates.\u00a0 It is almost mid-July- this would have<\/p>\n

been my mother\u2019s 95th birthday.\u00a0\u00a0 And she would have loved being that old and<\/p>\n

alive.\u00a0 She would have loved MY grandsons- loved to see Jordan and Luke getting<\/p>\n

settled in their lives- she loved living.\u00a0 Everyday she would celebrate life.<\/p>\n

I miss her.<\/p>\n

I never saw my mother depressed.\u00a0 ANGRY- inquisitive- loving- worried- determined-<\/p>\n

whimsical- yes to all of those \u2013 but never depressed.<\/p>\n

I take after her in a lot of things, but she was made of tougher stuff than I am.<\/p>\n

I grew up determined not to be like my mother.<\/p>\n

I vowed I would be different.<\/p>\n

And now, sometimes,<\/p>\n

I wish I were more like her.<\/p>\n
