Without salsas.<\/p>\n<p>But he does like gravy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"006\" border=\"0\" alt=\"006\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/006_thumb.jpg\" width=\"446\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So when I made this roast, the gravy was acceptable.<\/p>\n<p>I made a gravy using burnt sugar syrup and allspice as seasoning.<\/p>\n<p>After taking the meat out of the pan and covering it with foil, I added 1 1\/2 Tablespoons<\/p>\n<p>of the syrup&#160; ( I made the syrup <a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/?s=burnt+sugar+syrup&amp;op.x=42&amp;op.y=12\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> to use in a cake recipe)- then I added 3\/4 cup of<\/p>\n<p>broth to the drippings and stirred it with a whisk.&#160; Heat the drippings back up and<\/p>\n<p>then add 1\/4 cup cold water with 2 teaspoons of cornstarch stirred into it.&#160;&#160; Add salt<\/p>\n<p>and pepper to taste, and simmer until thickened.&#160; Then pour over sliced beef and <\/p>\n<p>boiled potatoes before serving.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/007.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; and put it into the<\/p>\n<p>crock pot all day on low- about&#160; 8 hours.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/018.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"018\" border=\"0\" alt=\"018\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/018_thumb.jpg\" width=\"279\" height=\"417\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Hickory salt with black Hawaiian lava salt rub.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/022.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; b<strong>arbecue sauce for me&#8212;- plain for Frank.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I use a bbq sauce with mango and guava in it- from the Dixie Bar and Grill in Hawaii-<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/026.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none;
