1-2<\/sup> God! Look! Enemies past counting! Enemies sprouting like mushrooms, Of all the psalms and psalmists- I must admit I like David the best.<\/em><\/p>\n I like his perspective- I like the names he gives for God.<\/em><\/p>\n I like the way he partners with God.<\/em><\/p>\n I like his praise.<\/em><\/p>\n I like his advice.<\/em><\/p>\n I LIKE David.<\/em><\/p>\n And I believe God does, too.<\/em><\/p>\n God \u201csaid\u201d in both I Samuel 13:13 and Acts 13:22- that David was <\/em><\/p>\n a man after God\u2019s own heart.<\/em><\/p>\n I\u2019m not totally sure what that means.<\/em><\/p>\n I\u2019ve heard plenty of sermons by people who have told me what <\/em><\/p>\n They believed it means. And some of what they say is legitimate-<\/em><\/p>\n But it is an open-ended statement.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I think it may mean that God and David agreed on some very <\/em><\/p>\n important issues. <\/em><\/p>\n I think it may mean that David was a man that accepted his need<\/em><\/p>\n for forgiveness and guidance.<\/em><\/p>\n God also said \u201c Jacob have I loved, Esau have I hated.\u201d- Romans 9:13.<\/em><\/p>\n And <\/em><\/p>\n Psalm 115:3 MSG<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cOur God is in heaven doing whatever he wants to do.\u201d<\/p>\n I\u2019m not going to be real quick to ascribe the reasons for God\u2019s approbation<\/em><\/p>\n and love for the guy.<\/em><\/p>\n I just know, that I LIKE DAVID<\/strong>– a lot.<\/em><\/p>\n I resonate well with his psalms- I understand a lot of his decisions-<\/em><\/p>\n and even his sins make a lot of sense to me.<\/em><\/p>\n So- I\u2019m going to be looking at the psalms of David \u2013 and the life of David-<\/em><\/p>\n to take a closer look at David\u2019s view of God. <\/em><\/p>\n Interested in coming along on the journey?<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Psalm 3 1-2 God! Mobs of them all around me, roaring their mockery:
"Hah! No help for him from God!"
3-4<\/sup> But you, God, shield me on all sides;
