{"id":6941,"date":"2013-03-16T11:49:16","date_gmt":"2013-03-16T15:49:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heidiannie.com\/?p=6941"},"modified":"2013-03-16T11:51:19","modified_gmt":"2013-03-16T15:51:19","slug":"cake-break","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heidiannie.com\/?p=6941","title":{"rendered":"Cake break"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been making so much bread- didn\u2019t want you to think I\u2019ve been<\/p>\n<p>starving Frank\u2019s sweet tooth!<\/p>\n<p>I made an almond pound cake with almond glaze yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/0021.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"002\" border=\"0\" alt=\"002\" src=\"http:\/\/www.heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/002_thumb.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"251\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the recipe-<\/p>\n<p>For the&#160; pound cake:<\/p>\n<p>2 Sticks of Unsalted Butter, Softened<\/p>\n<p>1 Package of Cream Cheese, Softened<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup Almond Cake &amp; Pastry Filling <\/p>\n<p>1&#160; cup sugar<\/p>\n<p>4 Eggs<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp Vanilla<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp Almond Extract<\/p>\n<p>1 \u00bd cup AP Flour<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup Almond Meal<\/p>\n<p>1 \u00bd tsp Baking Powder<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp Salt<\/p>\n<p>For the Almond Glaze:<\/p>\n<p>2 cups Confectioners\u2019 Sugar, Sifted<\/p>\n<p>\u00bc cup Almond Cake &amp; Pastry Filling<\/p>\n<p>6 TBS Milk<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp Almond Extract<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp Vanilla<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<p>1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and spray a bundt pan with Pam, sprinkle flour and spread around pan by shaking it from crevice to crevice and then set aside.<\/p>\n<p>2. In a mixer, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and almond filling. Pour in the sugar and mix until fluffy and smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing each one until it is incorporated before adding the next egg. Then add in the almond extract and vanilla extract.<\/p>\n<p>3. While ingredients are mixing, whisk together the flour, almond meal, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add this flour mixture into the wet mixture. Mix until just incorporated.<\/p>\n<p>4. Pour or spoon the batter into the prepared bundt pan and bake the cake for roughly an hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely before pouring on the glaze.<\/p>\n<p>I had a little trouble getting the cake OUT of the pan- finally ended up cutting into pieces and placing on a platter and then spooning the glaze over the slices.<\/p>\n<p>5. To make the glaze: combine the confectioners\u2019 sugar, almond filling, milk, almond extract, and vanilla in a bowl and whisk until it is completely combined and smooth. Pour the glaze over the cooled cake.
