My friend Celia, from the blog Fig jam and lime cordial<\/a>, recently made a bear bread using<\/p>\n

my last tutorial and she requested some other bread shapes.\u00a0 Specifically a rabbit.<\/p>\n

It is coming up Easter, soon, so I decided to add a couple of more animal shapes for<\/p>\n

you to try if you are interested.<\/p>\n

First of all, though- Celia was getting a little carried away, and said , \u201cA Dragon!\u00a0 Can you<\/p>\n

make a dragon?\u201d<\/p>\n

Now I like dragons myself \u2013 and my grandson, Aidan is a little dragon crazy!<\/p>\n

So I tried my hand and imagination for a dragon.<\/p>\n

Not bad for a first try- I\u2019m going to work on this one just a bit!<\/p>\n

Now on to the rabbit\u2026<\/p>\n

Here is a rabbit \u2013 all ready for an Easter Basket!<\/p>\n

Make your dough and let it raise once.\u00a0 Then portion out pieces to make the rabbit-<\/p>\n

I used to weigh these out when I was selling them- so I knew exactly how many I<\/p>\n

could get out of a batch of dough.\u00a0 Now I dole out the pieces according to proportion.<\/p>\n

the body is twice the size of the head-let\u2019s say 3 ounces.\u00a0 That makes the head\u00a0 1 1\/2 oz.<\/p>\n

The legs are 1 ounce each about 1\/3 the size of the body.\u00a0 The arms are half the size of<\/p>\n

the legs- 1\/2 ounce each-\u00a0 and the ears\u00a0 – just a little smaller than the legs-3\/4 oz.<\/p>\n

Start off with the body and shape it into a long circle with a smaller top than bottom\u2019<\/p>\n

Pinch the bottom together between each shaping and tightening of the dough.<\/p>\n

It should be oblong- wider at the bottom than the top- place on your sheet.<\/p>\n

Now do the head the same way- only it can be round rather than oblong.<\/p>\n

Place it on the sheet on top of the smaller part of the oblong.<\/p>\n

Now start on the feet and think \u201cThumper\u201d making the foot shaped like an exclamation point,<\/p>\n

but flat on the edges so you can slide it just a little behind the hip part of the bunny.<\/p>\n

Do it on both sides.<\/p>\n

Now do the same thing with the arms and place them between the head and the body.<\/p>\n

The ears come next- and you want to roll them into a small snakey little shape.<\/p>\n

leave a little lip on the base of each ear so that you can place them slightly under<\/p>\n

Now when working on the ears, shape the tips to be cute- and add definition.<\/p>\n

Poke a hole for his bellybutton, and add dried currants for nose and eyes.<\/p>\n

Bake at 350 to 375 degrees F for about 20 minutes- until golden brown.<\/p>\n

Add a bow, a paper cut out carrot and a marshmallow or white chocolate tooth-<\/p>\n

AND you have a bread rabbit.<\/p>\n

I also made a few other animals while I was at it-<\/em><\/p>\n

a dinner roll bunny, a ST. Patty\u2019s guy,\u00a0 a turtle<\/em><\/p>\n
