Oh my- what<\/p>\n<p>a treasure!&#160; I really don\u2019t remember exactly where this recipe came from-<\/p>\n<p>although I think it may have been a Gourmet magazine from many years<\/p>\n<p>ago.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>Recipe:<\/p>\n<p>1 pound fresh rhubarb- 3 cups of 1\u201d slices<\/p>\n<p>1 cup light brown sugar<\/p>\n<p>2 cups cake flour<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 tsp baking powder<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup + 2 TBS granulated sugar<\/p>\n<p>1 stick cold unsalted butter cut into 1\/2\u201d cubes (4 oz)<\/p>\n<p>1\/3 cup whole milk<\/p>\n<p>2 large eggs- 1 separated- save white for topping glaze<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 400 degrees F<\/p>\n<p>Toss rhubarb with brown sugar- set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk together cake ingredients, blend in butter with pastry blender or<\/p>\n<p>fingers until it resembles coarse meal.&#160; Whisk together eggs and milk, make <\/p>\n<p>well in dry ingredients and stir to make soft sticky dough.&#160; Pat half of dough<\/p>\n<p>into the bottom and sides of a 10\u201dceramic pie plate with floured hands.<\/p>\n<p>Cover with rhubarb and sugar mix- make sure you get out all the juices.<\/p>\n<p>Spoon last of dough on top- brush with egg white and sprinkle with granulated sugar.<\/p>\n<p>Bake for 40 to 45 minutes- keep an eye on top- reduce heat for last 10 minutes or so that<\/p>\n<p>the top doesn\u2019t get too brown.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/030.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"030\" border=\"0\" alt=\"030\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/030_thumb.jpg\" width=\"455\" height=\"305\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Whiskey cream topping-<\/p>\n<p>1 cup heavy cream<\/p>\n<p>2 TBS powdered (10x) sugar<\/p>\n<p>1 TBS whiskey<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 tsp vanilla<\/p>\n<p>Put cold cream into a chilled bowl- add rest of ingredients and beat until<\/p>\n<p>you have stiff peaks!<a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/0281.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none;
