When my boys were young, I had them help in the kitchen.<\/p>\n

They set and cleared the table, swept the floors, filled and emptied<\/p>\n

the dishwasher, and helped prepare the meals.  <\/p>\n

They liked spending time with me- and my time was mostly spent<\/p>\n

doing chores and preparing meals- so that is where we accomplished<\/p>\n

much of our work.  I wasn\u2019t a photographer back then- I\u2019m getting better<\/p>\n

now- and my son and niece take so many pictures that I have a library of<\/p>\n

images to go to.<\/p>\n

But I have no pictures of those years of activity.  Of the learning and loving<\/p>\n

and sharing that went on then.  So- in looking at my most recent photos,<\/p>\n

I was so pleased to have pictures of my grandsons working along with us-<\/p>\n

in the the kitchen.<\/p>\n

And sweeping the deck after a rainstorm brought down the crab<\/p>\n

apple blossoms.<\/p>\n

Kieran sorting out my cupboard. <\/p>\n

Luke used to get Jordan to help put away the dishes by calling out, \u201cHi Ho Silver(ware)!\u201d<\/p>\n

and Jordan would come running to put away the silverware.  <\/p>\n

And after sweeping up the floor he\u2019d call for the \u201cdustpan man\u201d and his little <\/p>\n

brother would hurry to do his part of the task.<\/p>\n

No pictures of my sons- just fond memories and an echo in my heart of helpful<\/p>\n

and obedient children- who have grown up to be fine upright men.<\/p>\n

I cherish the times spent with children- it can be tiring \u2013 but those moments are<\/p>\n
