{"id":4997,"date":"2011-10-21T10:12:05","date_gmt":"2011-10-21T14:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/2011\/10\/coriander-and-orange-glazed-pork-chops-recipe\/"},"modified":"2011-10-21T10:12:05","modified_gmt":"2011-10-21T14:12:05","slug":"coriander-and-orange-glazed-pork-chops-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heidiannie.com\/?p=4997","title":{"rendered":"Coriander and Orange glazed Pork chops- recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/0171.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"017\" border=\"0\" alt=\"017\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/017_thumb1.jpg\" width=\"401\" height=\"269\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These were the highlight of my weekend.<\/p>\n<p>I loved all the people I interacted with-loved the books I read-<\/p>\n<p>enjoyed all the activities- BUT- these remain a shining moment in my<\/p>\n<p>memory!<\/p>\n<p>It is Autumn here in Ohio.&#160; The recipes are a little heavier and more<\/p>\n<p>nourishing for the body and soul.&#160; The light and lovely dishes of summer<\/p>\n<p>are yesterday and there are more soups and stews on the stove.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But these pork&#160; chops would be good anytime of the year!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They are savory and sweet- satisfying, but not too heavy- they smell divine-<\/p>\n<p>and they are not very expensive.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the recipe-<\/p>\n<p>4 nice loin chops<\/p>\n<p>2-3 TBS ground coriander<\/p>\n<p>2 cloves garlic, sliced<\/p>\n<p>2 TBS olive oil<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup orange marmalade, preferably home made<\/p>\n<p>S + P, to taste<\/p>\n<p>Method&#8217;:<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in large cast iron skillet, add garlic and sautee until translucent.&#160; Remove<\/p>\n<p>from pan.&#160; <a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/0081.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"008\" border=\"0\" alt=\"008\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/008_thumb1.jpg\" width=\"363\" height=\"243\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rinse chops and dry with paper towels.&#160; Dredge or sprinkle with ground coriander.<\/p>\n<p>I ground my own coriander ( I always have lots of coriander- because my cilantro goes<\/p>\n<p>to seed so quickly- I keep planting more which gives me LOTS of coriander!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/0101.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"010\" border=\"0\" alt=\"010\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/010_thumb1.jpg\" width=\"510\" height=\"341\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I like it fresh ground and like to use my mortar and pestle! <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none\" class=\"wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile\" alt=\"Smile\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/wlEmoticon-smile1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/004.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"004\" border=\"0\" alt=\"004\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/004_thumb.jpg\" width=\"436\" height=\"292\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So after grinding it up, I used a fine sieve and sprinkled the coriander on top<\/p>\n<p>of the chops.<a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/0061.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"006\" border=\"0\" alt=\"006\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/006_thumb1.jpg\" width=\"361\" height=\"242\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Add salt and pepper, and they are ready to put into the cast iron skillet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/0072.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"007\" border=\"0\" alt=\"007\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/007_thumb2.jpg\" width=\"448\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fry them up- browning both sides-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/0092.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"009\" border=\"0\" alt=\"009\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/009_thumb2.jpg\" width=\"445\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then take them out and add the marmalade.&#160; Deglaze the pan, stirring the<\/p>\n<p>marmalade into the pan juices and put the chops back in and turn several<\/p>\n<p>times while simmering the chops in the glaze.<\/p>\n<p>Cook on stove top until chops are done and looking shiny with the glaze.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/018.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"018\" border=\"0\" alt=\"018\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/018_thumb.jpg\" width=\"460\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then dish them up and scrape all the glaze on top of them and serve with a<\/p>\n<p>side of rice pilaf and green vegetable and salad.<\/p>\n<p>Add crusty rolls-<a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"011\" border=\"0\" alt=\"011\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/011_thumb.jpg\" width=\"244\" height=\"164\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And you have a wonderful dinner!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These were the highlight of my weekend.
