1<\/sup> Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, 3<\/sup> The scepter of the wicked will not remain 4<\/sup> LORD, do good to those who are good, Peace be on Israel. <\/p>\n I grew up in a church that didn’t embrace what they called” the fallacy of eternal security”- or maybe they didn’t quite say it that way, but that is what they meant. One needed to work out one’s salvation with fear and trembling.<\/em> <\/p>\n There are many who back slide- the parable of the seed and the different plantings made it clear that there are those who appear to be believers who end up dried out and shriveled. And then there is that dog that goes back to his vomit. These were the arguments I heard throughout my youth.<\/em> <\/p>\n And they made me nervous. <\/em> <\/p>\n I heard and read all the arguments and assurances on the other side as well. To tell you the truth- I’m not much interested in arguing about it.<\/em> <\/p>\n I know that I am surrounded on all sides by the grace and mercy of out Lord.<\/em> <\/p>\n I feel secure in His loving care. I am trusting in Him to do good in my life because I belong to Him and am cleansed by the blood of Jesus and adopted into His family by His Son’s atonement. <\/em> <\/p>\n I grew up not wanting to be part of the uncertainty or the arguments.<\/em> <\/p>\n And I read the Bible.<\/em> <\/p>\n Now- I’m following the advice of Psalm 125-<\/em> <\/p>\n relaxing in the LORD.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Psalm 125 A song of ascents. 1 Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. 2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both … Continue reading

so the LORD surrounds his people
both now and forevermore. <\/p>\n
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil. <\/p>\n
to those who are upright in heart.
5<\/sup> But those who turn to crooked ways
the LORD will banish with the evildoers. <\/p>\n
