{"id":2100,"date":"2010-06-28T10:21:58","date_gmt":"2010-06-28T14:21:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/?p=2100"},"modified":"2010-06-28T10:21:58","modified_gmt":"2010-06-28T14:21:58","slug":"summer-on-my-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heidiannie.com\/?p=2100","title":{"rendered":"Summer on my mind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/midsummer-0193.jpg\">&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"348\" alt=\"midsummer 016\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/midsummer-016_thumb.jpg\" width=\"463\" border=\"0\"><\/a>  <\/p>\n<p><em>Echinacea at Stan Hywet<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It has arrived.<\/p>\n<p>It has been hot.<\/p>\n<p>The flowers and veggies (and weeds) and grass are all growing.<\/p>\n<p>But I haven&#8217;t really acknowledged it until Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Summer!<strong> SUMMER!<u>&nbsp; SUMMER!!!<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been somewhere else in my mind&#8230; and I&#8217;m just now getting into the framework of summertime.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Iced tea on the porch with a plateful of sugar cookies on the table to munch.<\/p>\n<p>Afternoons spent walking around the gardens- paying close attention to the floral and insect displays- looking at the standout blossoms and taking in the wide panorama of green.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/midsummer-0193.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"349\" alt=\"midsummer 019\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/midsummer-019_thumb.jpg\" width=\"464\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And watching the little ones splash in water.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/midsummer-021.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"610\" alt=\"midsummer 021\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/midsummer-021_thumb.jpg\" width=\"458\" border=\"0\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Summer is not just a season.&nbsp; It is a viewpoint- a state of mind- a relaxing of boundaries- an enjoyment of the senses- in a sense- time out of time.<\/p>\n<p>It takes me a while to reach it- this summer state of mind.&nbsp; As a child, I was there pretty much all year long.&nbsp; As a young adult it was not far from view, but now it is a journey.&nbsp; And I don&#8217;t always recognize how far I am away until June is almost over.&nbsp; Then suddenly, like an epiphany it comes to me.<\/p>\n<p>Slow down- pay attention- savor these moments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/midsummer-013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"478\" alt=\"midsummer 013\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/midsummer-013_thumb.jpg\" width=\"360\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p> Because now is the time to grow and ripen and be fruitful.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s <strong><em><u>SUMMER!!!<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Echinacea at Stan Hywet It has arrived.
