{"id":2025,"date":"2010-06-12T09:16:20","date_gmt":"2010-06-12T13:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/?p=2025"},"modified":"2010-06-12T09:16:20","modified_gmt":"2010-06-12T13:16:20","slug":"six-courses-to-eat-in-front-of-ones-enemies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heidiannie.com\/?p=2025","title":{"rendered":"Six courses to eat in front of one&#8217;s enemies-"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week I took a look at Psalm 23, and the verse about preparing the table&nbsp; before my enemies was translated to a six course meal in The Message.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been thinking about that all week.&nbsp; What would a meal that God prepares for us to consume in the face of our enemies look like?&nbsp; Would it be simple fare or a gourmet&#8217;s delight?&nbsp; Would it be manna&#8217;ish with a poultry chaser or would it be all of my personal favorites?&nbsp;&nbsp; Should I offer to share and somehow turn my enemy into my ally over a repast of heavenly food?&nbsp; So many questions&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Given my strong penchant for making up menus, I decided to give it a go and then try to make up the feast of my imagination next week.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m pretty good at imagining- finding or making up the recipes is a little harder task!<\/p>\n<p>Feast in the presence !<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Menu<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chilled melon soup with accents of jalapeno and capers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stuffed dates with cheese and pomegranates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pickled grapes and olives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Green Salad with tangy ginger dressing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Crusty bread<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Entree- Baked tilapia with macadamia and parmesan crust<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Singing baked potato wedges<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Grilled Summer squash<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And something heavenly for dessert.&nbsp; TBA later.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It all sounds good to me. <\/p>\n<p>What do you think?&nbsp; Any suggestions- or recipes to share?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week I took a look at Psalm 23, and the verse about preparing the table&nbsp; before my enemies was translated to a six course meal in The Message.
