So- seriously- this is what I’ve learned.<\/p>\n
I am playing around instead of journeying.\u00a0 My bags aren’t packed.<\/p>\n
I have not got provisions for travel.<\/p>\n
And whenever I look ahead, I am daunted by the distances I need to go.<\/p>\n
I am a toddler, refusing to hold the Hand offered,<\/p>\n
choosing my own way, which is mainly in dizzying circles,<\/p>\n
all centered around myself.<\/p>\n
If I was chronicling my life John Bunyan style,<\/p>\n
I would name myself Slothly and write up a<\/p>\n
description of a sly-eyed,slow moving,selfish and<\/p>\n
pudgy woman who ignores good advice but announces<\/p>\n
her good intentions with regularity to any one willing to listen.<\/p>\n
If I found myself in Lewis’ Narnian Chronicles, I’d be a<\/p>\n
Dwarf.<\/p>\n
Because,\u00a0 “the dwarves are for the dwarves!”<\/p>\n
And looking in a mirror, I am turning away from what I see.<\/p>\n
Not very attractive.<\/p>\n
I’ve been hurt and I’m tired and leery about being hurt again.<\/p>\n
I need repair.<\/p>\n
I am depressed.<\/p>\n
And I can’t do this on my own.<\/p>\n
I am so thankful that God is a God of mercy<\/p>\n
and redemption.\u00a0 And Grace.<\/p>\n
And that His is the Hand I’m reaching for-<\/p>\n
His is the direction I’m following…<\/p>\n
slowly behind.<\/p>\n
And that He is in the business of transformation.<\/p>\n
