{"id":1436,"date":"2010-02-25T19:04:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-25T23:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/?p=1436"},"modified":"2010-02-25T19:04:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-25T23:04:00","slug":"arthur-wood-a-gifted-teapot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heidiannie.com\/?p=1436","title":{"rendered":"Arthur Wood- a gifted teapot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/chips-and-pots-006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"180\" alt=\"chips and pots 006\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/chips-and-pots-006_thumb.jpg\" width=\"239\" border=\"0\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>I moaned and complained a little about breaking a teapot <a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/?p=1301\">on this post<\/a>, (ok, I complained a LOT!) and I got a reward!<\/p>\n<p>Cynthia is like my fairy godmother when it comes to teapots!&nbsp; She went out and found me another pot! <\/p>\n<p>And not just ANY pot either.&nbsp; This one has a mark and a history and a former address.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/bread-and-frames-015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"244\" alt=\"bread and frames 015\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/bread-and-frames-015_thumb.jpg\" width=\"184\" border=\"0\"><\/a> It is hard to see the mark but it is definitely there and it tells much about the life and times of this lovely pot.&nbsp; It was made sometime around 1954 , in Staffordshire, in the west midlands of England, on the Stoke -on &#8211; Kent.&nbsp; This pottery is located in the same area as the more famous shops of&nbsp; Wedgewood, Spode, and Royal Daulton.&nbsp; It was started by Arthur Wood and his son Enoch in 1860 and continued to make teapots and piggy banks until the 1980&#8217;s&nbsp; when it was sold out to a larger concern.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/chips-and-pots-0061.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"366\" alt=\"chips and pots 006\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/chips-and-pots-006_thumb1.jpg\" width=\"488\" border=\"0\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>I love it!&nbsp; I like to think that it was made in 1954 and that we have both weathered the years, pretty much intact.&nbsp; Both the pot and I are modest and unassuming in appearance but we still manage to do the jobs for which we were made .<\/p>\n<p>I like that it bears its makers mark and brings admiration and value back because of its form and service.&nbsp; I pray that the same thing can be said of me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I moaned and complained a little about breaking a teapot on this post, (ok, I complained a LOT!) and I got a reward!
