(Luke, that is just one more reason why you should come more often!)&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>I was going to buy falafel at Alladin&#8217;s when Ally and Aiden and I went.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; So I figured I&#8217;d make them myself.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"560\" alt=\"falafel 013\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-013_thumb1.jpg\" width=\"421\" border=\"0\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t this the cutest thing you&#8217;ve seen today?!&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>But back to the making of falafels.<\/p>\n<p>Because this is some real serious business.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Lately, all I want to eat are falafels.&nbsp; I LOVE GARBANZO BEANS!<\/p>\n<p>And so does Aidan- so I&#8217;m making the falafel for him!&nbsp; And me.<\/p>\n<p>I promised you a recipe.&nbsp; So here goes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Ingredients:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chickpeas- (or garbanzo beans) 16 oz. canOR<\/p>\n<p>about 2 cups dried beans that you have soaked overnight.<\/p>\n<p>If you are using the dried beans- you will need to drain them and put into fresh water in a pot and bring to a boil.&nbsp; Reduce heat and simmer for an hour.&nbsp; Drain and cool for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Reserve liquid from beans<\/p>\n<p>1 clove garlic -chopped<\/p>\n<p>1 onion-chopped<\/p>\n<p>a handful of fresh parsley, chopped=1\/3 cup<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp coriander, ground<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp cumin,ground<\/p>\n<p>2 TBS flour<\/p>\n<p>salt and pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p>oil for frying<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Method:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine all ingredients, except oil, in food processor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-025.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"180\" alt=\"falafel 025\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-025_thumb.jpg\" width=\"239\" border=\"0\"><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-024.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"180\" alt=\"falafel 024\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-024_thumb.jpg\" width=\"239\" border=\"0\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Process until it is ground fine.<\/p>\n<p>You may need to add a little of the liquid from the beans.&nbsp; Add 1\/4 cup at a time- you don&#8217;t want this to be runny- you are looking for a thick paste.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-026.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"180\" alt=\"falafel 026\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-026_thumb.jpg\" width=\"239\" border=\"0\"><\/a> keep processing- not smooth enough.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-027.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px\" height=\"180\" alt=\"falafel 027\" src=\"http:\/\/heidiannie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/falafel-027_thumb.jpg\" width=\"239\" border=\"0\"><\/a> It should look like this when it is ready to be fried in oil.&nbsp; I&#8217;m sorry &#8211; I don&#8217;t have a picture of them fried yet!&nbsp;&nbsp; The batter is sitting in my refrigerator waiting for the hot finale!<\/p>\n<p>BUT- I won&#8217;t leave you here, I promise.<\/p>\n<p>Make the batter into ping pong size balls and flatten slightly and then fry in about 2 inches of oil at 350 degrees for 5-7 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>I will post pictures of the finished falafel, if they aren&#8217;t eaten up too quickly!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got to go- I went into the kitchen to grab my list of ingredients and I realized that I went upstairs to get dressed after making whole wheat bread dough and the batter for falafel, and I got distracted into cleaning the bathroom.<\/p>\n<p>My kitchen is a disaster!&nbsp;
